NIGHTLIFE

Live music, food and dancing are hallmarks of the Bayou Region's nightlife scene.

Home to major hotspots for nightlife, as well as a number of local hidden gems, the Bayou Region features a variety of restaurants that offer cuisine, live music venues for both concerts and dancing, and community theaters with their own acting troupes.

Dining & nightlife

The region is well-known for its broad selection of restaurants that offer menu items ranging from steak and Louisiana seafood to contemporary Italian and sushi. In Houma, residents often head downtown at night to enjoy a meal with friends before catching a concert at Houma’s Live After 5 concert series, or dancing the night away to live music at a local dancehall.

Like Houma, Thibodaux is filled with numerous restaurants that are ideal for dinner with friends, a family meal or dinner for two. Downtown Thibodaux is pedestrian-friendly and features live music on weekend nights.

Live theater

The region is home to a number of towns and areas that offer local theater with full seasons of plays that range from comedies to dramas. The Thibodaux Playhouse, Le Petit Theatre de Terrebonne in Houma and The Bayou Playhouse in Lockport all offer entertaining performances throughout the year, making it easy for theater enthusiasts to enjoy all the Bayou Region has to offer.
