Sculpture Garden and Studio Preserve Indigenous Folk Art

View All Arts & Music

The Chauvin Sculpture Garden & Nicholls State University Art Studio hold a stirring collection of folk art and outdoor sculpture. The site was first open to the public in 2002 with a mission to educate the public on the value of folk art. Located in the town of Chauvin, about 30 miles south of Thibodaux, the art venue is comprised of two distinct experiences: an outdoor sculpture garden and a small cottage that features a collection of works by contemporary artists.

The Chauvin Sculpture Garden features more than 100 sculptures created by renowned local artist Kenny Hill. Many are vividly colored and set against the verdant backdrop of the bayou. The 1000-square foot Art Studio features a permanent collection of paintings, photographs, sculpture and pottery created by local artists.
