Mandalay National Wildlife Refuge in Louisiana’s Bayou Region is a 4,420-acre nature preserve that attracts boaters, anglers and nature lovers. Located about 6 miles southwest of Houma, the refuge provides outdoor enthusiasts passage into a quiet and scenic freshwater marsh and cypress-tupelo swamp.

The wildlife preserve attracts 18,000 visitors annually and is a habitat for waterfowl, wading birds, neotropical songbirds and bald eagles. Visitors can walk along the trail and stop at the observation deck to take in the picturesque views.

The refuge is open year-round for popular activities including wildlife observation and photography, boating and fishing.
