Downtown Live After 5: Perfect Way to Start the Weekend

View All Arts & Music

Live After 5 is an outdoor concert series in Downtown Houma. Now in its 11th year, the series is held on Friday nights from April through October.

Performances are held downtown at the city’s historic Courthouse Square. Bands set up on the courthouse steps, and crowds gather on the grounds to listen to the music, which spans a range of genres such as blues, country, rock and swamp pop. Many concertgoers bring blankets and folding chairs, relax on benches or spread out on the lawn. Popular among locals, headliners include Bandit, Blue Eyed Soul, Good Feelin’ Band and VooDoo Bayou.

The surrounding downtown area has many restaurants and bars for residents who want to take a break from enjoying the concert. Cuisine ranges from Japanese to Mexican to Cajun.
